Become confident in serving your role as a Title IX Decision-maker. Whether you serve as a decision-maker or other support hearing officer, this training will provide you with the opportunity to gain or further develop your existing skills. Better understand what is expected of the Title IX hearing process and gain the foundational knowledge required to make appropriate discretionary decisions and reach a determination of responsibility. 

What will the training cover?

  • Foundational understanding of Title IX 

  • Role and responsibilities of Decision-maker

  • Mitigating bias and identifying conflicts of interest

  • Record keeping

  • Facilitating live Title IX hearings

  • Jurisdiction of Title IX

  • Reaching a determination of responsibility

  • Creating the written decision and reasoning.

Learning Format:

  • 16 hours of live, instructor-led class time

  • Electronic workbooks will be provided to participants

  • Video lecture with a PowerPoint presentation

  • Live Q&A throughout the training

  • Skills-based practice scenarios and feedback

Early Bird Registration: $800 

*Available until three weeks prior to training.

Regular Registration: $1,000

  • Cross-examination

  • Guidelines and restrictions on evidence

  • Party rights and options during the hearing

  • Application of policy to facts

  • Integrating trauma-informed best practices

  • Appeals processes

  • Overview of pre-hearing process

This course meets consecutively for four days. You must attend all three days to receive your certificate of completion.
