Beginner-Intermediate

Learn how to lead hearings under the new Title IX regulations. This online training will provide you with the opportunity to gain or further develop your existing skills related to leading Title IX hearings. In this course, we will discuss the new requirements under Title IX related to hearings, best practices in higher education hearings, as well as foundations of equity, due process, trauma-informed practices and upholding student and staff rights. 

Learning Objectives

  • Strengthen your knowledge of best practices in leading Title IX hearings including coming to determinations of responsibility.

  • Understand how to determine and make appropriate determinations regarding the relevance of cross-examination questions and evidence. 

  • Identify best practices in mitigating potential harm in hearings through ensuring there are necessary frameworks and expectations in place. 

  • Overview of what the new regulations require of hearings including documentation and equity standards. 

  • Identify best practices in serving students and staff and ensuring all parties are treated fairly.

Cost

  • Early Bird Registration: $450

  • Standard Registration: $550

*Decision Maker training is scheduled the week following a Hearing Officer training. These courses may be purchased individually or bundled for a discount and dual certification. The option to bundle is available during registration. Early Bird Bundle: $850. Standard Bundle: $1000.
